Gen. Al Gray, the last of the bad guys.

I’ve heard old timers refer to General Al Gray as “the last of the bad guys.” If there is any doubt as to what they are referring to, I direct you to the link below.

Whoever once said, “Don’t argue with an editor who buys his ink by the barrel” never got the word to the 29th Commandant of the Marine Corps. AFJI’s interview with him was not all peaches and cream. A thoroughly and almost disarming gentleman, Gray does not, however, suffer fools lightly — especially editors who interrupt him to press him on points he thinks should be obvious.

Any leader who can tell the press it has no idea what it’s talking about is my kind of guy.
